Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 0.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cups chicken broth
  • 0.5 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness using a meat mallet or rolling pin, about 1/2 inch thick.

Step 2

In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.

Step 3

In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 5

Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet with a wooden spoon. Let the broth simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.

Step 6

Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream and Dijon mustard, whisking until the sauce is smooth. Allow the sauce to simmer for 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Step 7

Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them. Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for an additional 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Step 8

Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately. Enjoy with rice, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal!
