Ingredients

  • 4 ounces Ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)
  • 1 Sesame seed hamburger bun
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Yellow mustard
  • 3 slices Dill pickle slices
  • 0.25 cup Shredded lettuce
  • 1 Tomato slice
  • 1 Onion slice
  • 1 teaspoon Butter

Directions

Step 1

Preheat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.

Step 2

Divide the ground beef into a 4-ounce portion and gently shape it into a round patty about 1/2 inch thick. Do not over-handle the meat to ensure a juicy burger.

Step 3

Season both sides of the patty with a pinch of salt and ground black pepper.

Step 4

Place the patty onto the preheated skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired doneness (recommendation: cook to an internal temperature of 160°F for well-done).

Step 5

While the patty is cooking, spread the butter on the inside of the top and bottom halves of the sesame seed bun.

Step 6

Toast the buttered sides of the bun in a separate skillet or on a griddle until golden brown and slightly crisp, about 1-2 minutes.

Step 7

To assemble the burger, spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of the toasted bun.

Step 8

Place the cooked beef patty on top of the mayonnaise layer.

Step 9

Add ketchup and yellow mustard over the patty.

Step 10

Layer the dill pickle slices, shredded lettuce, tomato slice, and onion slice on top of the patty.

Step 11

Close the burger with the top half of the bun.

Step 12

Serve immediately with your favorite side dish, such as fries or onion rings.
