  • 1 pound Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Shallots (finely minced)
  • 1 clove Garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup Mushrooms (thinly sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy cream
  • 2 Brioche hamburger buns
  • 2 Lettuce leaves
  • 4 Tomato slices

Directions

Step 1

In a bowl, gently mix the ground beef with half of the salt and pepper. Form into two equal-sized patties, making a small indentation in the middle of each to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the hamburger patties and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium doneness. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside on a plate, tented with foil to keep warm.

In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced shallots and garlic, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Toast the brioche buns lightly. Place a lettuce leaf and two tomato slices on the bottom half of each bun.

Step 10

Place the hamburger patties on top of the tomatoes, then spoon additional Diane sauce over the patties. Add the top bun and serve immediately.
