Ingredients

  • 5 lbs bone-in half ham
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1.5 cups pineapple juice
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 20 pieces whole cloves

Directions

Step 1

Unwrap the ham and pat it dry with paper towels. If the ham has a casing or netting, remove it.

Step 2

Using a sharp knife, score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, cutting about 1/4 inch deep. This helps the flavors of the glaze seep into the ham.

Step 3

Insert whole cloves into the scored lines of the ham, spacing them evenly for both flavor and appearance.

Step 4

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, pineapple juice, honey, and Dijon mustard until smooth and well combined.

Step 5

Place the ham in the Crock Pot, flat side down. Pour the glaze mixture evenly over the top and sides of the ham.

Step 6

Cover the Crock Pot with its lid and set it to low heat. Cook the ham for 4-5 hours, basting it occasionally with the juices from the bottom of the pot.

Step 7

After 4-5 hours, check the internal temperature of the ham with a meat thermometer. It should reach 140°F (60°C) for serving.

Step 8

Once the ham is fully cooked, transfer it carefully to a serving platter. Allow it to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Step 9

Serve the ham warm, drizzled with the sweet juices from the Crock Pot. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
