  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1 packet Active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon Granulated sugar
  • 3.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 pieces Large eggs
  • 1 cup Diced ham
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 piece Egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon Water (for egg wash)

Directions

Step 1

In a small saucepan, warm the milk over low heat until it reaches about 110°F (warm to the touch but not hot). Remove from heat and stir in the butter until melted.

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix the warm milk with the yeast and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and eggs. Mix until a dough begins to form.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is sticky, sprinkle in a little more flour, 1 tablespoon at a time.
