Ingredients

  • 4 pieces tuna steaks
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 medium nectarines
  • 0.5 medium red onion
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro
  • 1 small jalapeño
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.

Step 2

Place the tuna steaks in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over them. Ensure the steaks are evenly coated. Cover or seal and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.

Step 3

While the tuna marinates, prepare the nectarine relish. Dice the nectarines and finely chop the red onion, cilantro, and jalapeño (remove seeds for less heat).

Step 4

In a medium bowl, combine the diced nectarines, red onion, cilantro, and jalapeño. Add lime juice and honey, then toss the mixture gently to combine. Cover and set aside.

Step 5

Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.

Step 6

Remove the tuna steaks from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Place the steaks on the preheated grill.

Step 7

Cook the tuna steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust the cooking time to your preferred level of doneness.

Step 8

Remove the tuna steaks from the grill and let rest for 2-3 minutes.

Step 9

Serve the grilled tuna steaks topped with a generous spoonful of the nectarine relish. Enjoy!
