Ingredients

  • 20 Grape leaves (jarred or fresh)
  • 200 grams Goat cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon zest
  • 1 clove Garlic (finely minced)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 4 Lemon wedges (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

If using jarred grape leaves, remove them from their liquid and rinse thoroughly to remove excess brine. If using fresh grape leaves, blanch them in boiling water for 1 minute, then transfer to an ice bath to cool. Pat dry and set aside.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine the goat cheese, black pepper, lemon zest, and minced garlic. Mix until smooth and fully incorporated.

Step 3

Lay a grape leaf flat on a clean surface with the veins facing up and the stem end pointing toward you. Place about 1 teaspoon of the goat cheese mixture near the base of the leaf.

Step 4

Fold the sides of the grape leaf over the filling, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to create a small, cigar-shaped parcel. Repeat with the remaining grape leaves and filling.

Step 5

Brush each stuffed grape leaf lightly with olive oil to prevent sticking and to add flavor during grilling.

Step 6

Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium heat. Place the stuffed grape leaves seam-side down on the grates and grill for 4-5 minutes per side, or until lightly charred and warmed through.

Step 7

Transfer the grilled grape leaves to a serving plate. Garnish with lemon wedges and drizzle with additional olive oil if desired.

Step 8

Serve immediately as an appetizer or snack, and enjoy!
