Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Salmon fillets (skin-on, about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper (freshly ground)
  • 0.5 cup Fresh orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon Orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger (grated)
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro (chopped, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375-400°F). If you are using a grill pan, preheat it over medium-high heat.

Step 2

Brush the salmon fillets with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Sprinkle both sides with salt and black pepper. Set aside.

Step 3

In a small saucepan, combine orange juice, orange zest, grated ginger, soy sauce, and honey. Stir to combine.

Step 4

Bring the sauce mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Allow it to reduce slightly, about 4-5 minutes.

Step 5

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Slowly whisk the slurry into the sauce, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 6

Brush the grill grates with the remaining olive oil to prevent sticking. Place the salmon fillets on the grill, skin-side down. Grill for 4-5 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F and the salmon easily flakes with a fork.

Step 7

Remove the salmon from the grill and transfer it to serving plates.

Step 8

Drizzle the orange ginger sauce generously over the grilled salmon.

Step 9

Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro and serve immediately.
