Ingredients

  • 4 slices Sourdough bread
  • 8 slices Salami
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.

Step 2

Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.

Step 3

If using, spread about 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard on the unbuttered side of two slices of bread.

Step 4

On one of the slices with mustard (or unbuttered if not using mustard), place 2 slices of cheddar cheese followed by 4 slices of salami.

Step 5

Top with another slice of bread, buttered side facing out. Repeat for the second sandwich.

Step 6

Carefully place the sandwiches onto the preheated skillet, buttered side down. Cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown and crispy.

Step 7

Flip the sandwiches using a spatula and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt completely.

Step 8

Once both sides are golden and the cheese is melted, remove the sandwiches from the skillet.

Step 9

Let the sandwiches rest for 1-2 minutes before slicing in half and serving.
