Ingredients

  • 12 pieces Fresh oysters
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh chives, chopped
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoon Hot sauce (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

Step 2

Scrub the oyster shells under cold water to remove any dirt or debris and discard any that are already open and do not close when tapped.

Step 3

Using a shucking knife, carefully open each oyster. Loosen the oyster from the shell but keep it in the shell. Discard the top (flat) shell and keep the deeper cup-like shells with the oyster meat on it.

Step 4

In a small bowl, combine the butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, parsley, chives, salt, black pepper, and optional hot sauce to create the herbed butter. Mix until well combined.

Step 5

Place a small dollop (about 1/2 teaspoon) of the herbed butter over each oyster, ensuring it's well distributed over the meat.

Top each oyster with a pinch of grated Parmesan cheese.
