Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 tbsp italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.25 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 4 burger buns
  • 0.5 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup baby arugula
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, fresh parsley, grated parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, roughly 1/2 inch thick.

Step 3

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375-400°F). Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.

Step 4

Use a small spoon to make a shallow indent in the center of each patty—this will ensure even cooking and prevent the burgers from puffing up.

Step 5

Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and grill for another 4-5 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.

Step 6

In the last 2 minutes of grilling, place a slice of mozzarella cheese on top of each patty and close the grill lid to melt the cheese.

Step 7

While the burgers are grilling, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes.

Step 8

Assemble the burgers: Place a grilled pork patty with melted mozzarella onto the bottom half of each bun. Top each patty with a spoonful of warm marinara sauce, a small handful of baby arugula, and the top bun.

Step 9

Serve immediately and enjoy your flavorful Grilled Italian Pork Burgers!
