Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Bread slices
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 1 large Tomato
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoons Garlic powder (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Slice the tomato into thin, even rounds and season with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Set aside.

Step 2

Spread a thin, even layer of butter on one side of each of the bread slices. This will help achieve a golden, crispy exterior.

Step 3

Place one bread slice, buttered side down, on a clean surface or cutting board. Layer 1-2 slices of cheddar cheese on top of the unbuttered side, followed by a few tomato slices, and then another slice of cheese. Top with a second slice of bread, buttered side facing up.

Step 4

Repeat the process with the remaining bread, cheese, and tomato to assemble the second sandwich.

Step 5

Heat a large non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat. Add the sandwiches to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, pressing gently with a spatula to ensure even browning, until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted. Reduce the heat if the bread browns too quickly.

Step 6

Optional: Sprinkle a small pinch of garlic powder over the sandwiches while cooking for an extra layer of flavor.

Step 7

Once cooked, remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them rest for a minute before slicing in half for easier handling.

Step 8

Serve immediately and enjoy your warm, melty Grilled Cheese Tomato Sandwich!
