Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Salmon fillets (skin-on)
  • 1 cup Barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Minced garlic
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • 4 pieces Lemon wedges (for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F-400°F). If using a charcoal grill, ensure the coals are evenly distributed.

Step 2

In a small bowl, stir together the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, and minced garlic. Set this barbecue glaze aside.

Step 3

In another bowl, melt the unsalted butter. Stir in the fresh lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper to create the buttery baste. Set aside.

Step 4

Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Lightly brush both sides with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.

Step 5

Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the preheated grill. Close the grill lid and cook for 4-5 minutes. Do not move the salmon to allow a nice sear to develop.

Step 6

Carefully flip the salmon fillets using a wide spatula. Brush the flesh side with a generous layer of the barbecue glaze. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Step 7

During the last minute of grilling, brush the fillets with the buttery baste for added moisture and flavor.

Step 8

Remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for 2 minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.

Step 9

Serve the grilled barbecued salmon with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over, and enjoy immediately.
