  • 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp Onion powder
  • 0.25 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 8 slices Bacon slices
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese slices
  • 4 buns Hamburger buns
  • 4 leaves Lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices Sliced tomato
  • 4 rings Sliced red onion
  • 0.25 cup Ketchup
  • 0.25 cup Mayonnaise

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Mix gently with your hands until just combined—don't overmix or the burgers may become tough.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into burger patties about 3/4-inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing up during cooking.

Step 4

Place the bacon slices on the grill and cook until crispy, about 3–4 minutes per side. Remove from the grill and set aside on a paper towel-lined plate.

Step 5

Place the burger patties on the hot grill. Cook for 4–5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3–4 minutes, or until an internal temperature of 160°F is reached for medium doneness.

Step 6

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and let it melt. Also, place the hamburger buns on the grill, cut side down, to toast lightly.

Assemble the burgers: Spread ketchup and mayonnaise on the toasted bun halves. Layer the bottom bun with lettuce, a cooked burger patty with melted cheese, two slices of crispy bacon, a slice of tomato, and a ring of red onion. Top with the other half of the bun.
