Ingredients

  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Balsamic vinegar
  • 3 pieces Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh thyme leaves
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil.

Step 2

Trim the stems of the Brussels sprouts and remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves. Cut each sprout in half lengthwise.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, minced garlic, fresh thyme leaves, salt, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.

Step 4

Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer, cut side down, on the prepared baking sheet. Ensure they are not overcrowded for maximum crispiness.

Step 5

Roast in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, then remove and drizzle the balsamic vinegar evenly over the sprouts.

Step 6

Use a spatula to flip the sprouts and return the baking sheet to the oven. Roast for an additional 5 minutes, or until the edges are crispy and caramelized.

Step 7

Remove the Brussels sprouts from the oven and optionally sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top while they are still hot.

Step 8

Serve immediately as a side dish to complement your favorite main course. Enjoy!
