  • 1 pound Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 cup Roasted green chiles (e.g. Hatch or Anaheim, chopped)
  • 4 ounces Cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese (shredded or sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 4 Burger buns
  • 0.25 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Lime juice
  • 4 Lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices Sliced tomato

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet to medium-high heat.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and form into burger patties about ¾-inch thick. Use your thumb to create a shallow indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging during cooking.
