Ingredients

  • 450 grams green beans, trimmed
  • 250 grams button mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 bowl (for ice bath) ice cubes

Directions

Step 1

Bring 4 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of salt to a boil in a large pot.

Add the green beans to the boiling water and blanch them for 3-4 minutes until bright green and slightly tender.

Immediately transfer the green beans to a bowl filled with ice water to stop cooking. Drain and set aside.
