  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • 2 tablespoons water

Directions

Step 1

Wash and trim the green beans, removing any tough stems or ends.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and blanch them for 2-3 minutes, or until they turn bright green and are just tender. Drain and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
