Ingredients

  • 450 grams fresh green beans
  • 6 stalks green onions
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons water

Directions

Step 1

Wash the green beans and trim the ends. Cut them into 2-inch pieces if they are very long.

Step 2

Rinse the green onions and remove any wilted parts. Cut them into 1/2-inch pieces, separating the white and green parts.

Step 3

Peel and mince the garlic cloves.

Step 4

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 5

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 6

Increase the heat to medium-high and add the green beans and 2 tablespoons of water to the skillet. Stir well.

Step 7

Cover the skillet with a lid and let the green beans steam for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they become tender but still crisp.

Step 8

Remove the lid and add the white parts of the green onions to the skillet. Sauté for 2 minutes until softened.

Step 9

Stir in the green parts of the onions, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Sauté for another 2 minutes until everything is well combined and heated through.

Step 10

Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Remove from heat and serve warm.
