Spread half of the macaroni mixture evenly across the base of the prepared dish.
Layer the meat sauce over the macaroni, spreading it evenly.
Top with the remaining macaroni mixture, smoothing it out.
Pour the remaining béchamel sauce over the top, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle with additional grated cheese if desired.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
