Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground beef
  • 250 grams Ground pork
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 units Eggs
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper, freshly ground
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 4 cups Marinara sauce

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, fresh parsley, minced garlic, eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2

Using your hands, gently mix the ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatballs dense.

Step 3

Using a spoon or your hands, form the mixture into golf-ball-sized meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place the formed meatballs on a plate or a baking sheet.

Step 4

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Sear the meatballs on all sides until they are golden brown, about 5 minutes per batch. Remove the meatballs and set them aside.

Step 5

In the same skillet, pour the marinara sauce and bring it to a simmer. Gently add the meatballs to the sauce, spooning a bit of sauce over them to coat.

Step 6

Cover the skillet with a lid and let the meatballs cook in the sauce over low heat for 20–25 minutes, or until cooked through.

Step 7

Serve the meatballs hot with your choice of pasta, crusty Italian bread, or on their own with additional sauce and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese on top.
