Ingredients

  • 0.75 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1.5 cups Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 3 Large eggs
  • 0.75 cup All-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 cup Chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it with non-stick spray.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, add 1 cup of the semi-sweet chocolate chips and stir until completely smooth and melted. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir in the melted butter and chocolate mixture.

Step 4

Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking thoroughly after each addition.

Step 5

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.

Step 6

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Step 7

Fold in the remaining 0.5 cup of chocolate chips and walnuts, if using, for extra texture.

Step 8

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 28-32 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Do not overbake to maintain the fudgy texture.

Step 10

Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment paper. Slice into 12 squares and serve.
