Ingredients

  • 2 cups Ketchup
  • 0.5 cups Apple cider vinegar
  • 0.5 cups, packed Brown sugar
  • 0.25 cups Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Molasses
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoons Smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoons Ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 0.5 cups Water

Directions

Step 1

In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, honey, and molasses.

Step 2

Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is smooth.

Step 3

Add the Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne (if using). Stir well to combine.

Step 4

Pour in the water to thin the sauce slightly and continue stirring to incorporate all the ingredients.

Step 5

Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 6

Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed, adding more salt, sugar, or spice to suit your preference.

Step 7

Once thickened and the flavors have melded together, remove from heat and allow it to cool slightly.

Step 8

Transfer the BBQ sauce to a jar or airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or use immediately for grilling or dipping.
