Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh lump crab meat
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 medium garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.75 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish or individual ramekins if you're making single servings.

Step 2

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped yellow onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté until softened and fragrant, about 5 minutes.

Step 3

Stir in the dry mustard powder, paprika, Cajun seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for 1 more minute to release the spices' aroma.

Step 4

Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Then stir in the mayonnaise, fresh parsley, fresh lemon juice, and beaten egg until well combined.

Step 5

Gently fold the lump crab meat into the mixture, being careful not to break up the chunks too much. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Step 6

Transfer the crab mixture into the prepared baking dish or divide it evenly into ramekins.

Step 7

In a small bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, and olive oil. Mix until the breadcrumbs are evenly coated with the oil.

Step 8

Sprinkle the breadcrumb topping evenly over the crab mixture.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the crab mixture is bubbly.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with additional chopped parsley and a wedge of lemon if desired.
