Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80% lean)
  • 0.5 lb Ground pork
  • 0.5 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 Large eggs, beaten
  • 0.25 cup Whole milk
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.25 cup Olive oil, for frying
  • 2 cups Marinara sauce

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, and garlic.

Step 2

In a separate small bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper. Pour the mixture over the meat mixture.

Step 3

Using clean hands, gently mix all the ingredients together until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatballs tough.

Step 4

Form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter. You should get approximately 12-14 meatballs.

Step 5

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Working in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan, sear the meatballs on all sides until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Step 6

Transfer the browned meatballs to a plate and repeat with the remaining batches.

Step 7

Once all the meatballs are browned, add the marinara sauce to a large saucepan. Gently place the meatballs into the sauce, ensuring they are submerged.

Step 8

Simmer the meatballs in the sauce over low heat for 25-30 minutes, allowing them to cook through and absorb the flavors of the sauce.

Step 9

Serve hot over spaghetti, with a side of garlic bread, or as a standalone dish with extra Parmesan on top.
