Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large egg
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, and minced garlic.

Step 3

In a separate small bowl, whisk together the eggs, 1/2 cup of the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and parsley. Add this mixture to the meat mixture and mix thoroughly with clean hands or a large spoon until well-blended.

Step 4

Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared loaf pan, pressing it down gently to eliminate air pockets and form an even loaf.

Step 5

In another small bowl, prepare the glaze by combining the remaining 1/2 cup of ketchup, brown sugar, and dry mustard. Mix until smooth and spread evenly on top of the meatloaf.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

Step 7

Let the meatloaf rest in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Pair with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables for a comforting dinner.
