Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 cup Celery, diced
  • 1 can Cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 can (14 ounces) Canned bean sprouts, drained
  • 1 can (8 ounces) Canned bamboo shoots, drained
  • 2 cups Chow mein noodles
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up into crumbles as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.

Step 3

Add the chopped onion and diced celery to the skillet and sauté for 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables begin to soften.

Step 4

Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, soy sauce, water, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.

Step 5

Add the drained bean sprouts and bamboo shoots to the mixture. Gently fold them in to avoid breaking the vegetables.

Step 6

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked mixture from the skillet with 1 cup of chow mein noodles.

Step 7

Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Step 8

Top the casserole with the remaining 1 cup of chow mein noodles for a crunchy topping.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbling and the noodles on top are golden brown.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and let the casserole cool for 5 minutes before serving.
