Ingredients

  • 4 medium, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced Apples
  • 200 grams Granulated sugar
  • 250 grams All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 120 milliliters Vegetable oil
  • 60 milliliters Fresh orange juice
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 50 grams Brown sugar
  • 15 grams (optional, for dusting) Powdered sugar
  • 1 as needed Non-stick cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) bundt pan or tube pan with non-stick cooking spray, ensuring all areas are covered.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, combine the sliced apples with half of the ground cinnamon and all the brown sugar. Toss gently to coat, then set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, oil, and vanilla extract until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking after each addition until smooth.

Step 4

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, remaining cinnamon, and salt.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the orange juice, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix just until the batter comes together; do not overmix.

Step 6

Pour about one-third of the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it into an even layer. Arrange half of the apple mixture over the batter. Repeat with another third of the batter, the remaining apples, and then the final third of the batter, ensuring the apples are completely covered.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Step 8

Let the cake cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes, then carefully invert it onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 9

Once cool, dust the top lightly with powdered sugar (if desired), slice, and serve.
