Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef (80/20)
  • 0.5 pound Ground pork
  • 0.5 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup Whole milk
  • 1 large Egg
  • 0.5 cup Yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cup Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 0.5 cup Extra ketchup (for glaze)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let sit for 2 minutes to allow the breadcrumbs to absorb the liquid.

Step 2

Add the ground beef, ground pork, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix gently with your hands until well combined, making sure not to overwork the mixture.

Step 3

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 4

Form the meat mixture into evenly sized meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. You should end up with approximately 16 meatballs.

Step 5

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Working in batches if needed, sear the meatballs for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Remove and transfer to a baking dish.

Step 6

Once all the meatballs are browned and in the baking dish, brush the tops generously with extra ketchup to create a flavorful glaze.

Step 7

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Step 8

Remove the meatballs from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Step 9

Serve warm with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or over spaghetti for a comforting meal. Enjoy!
