Ingredients

  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup chopped nuts (optional, such as pecans or walnuts)
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch tube pan or bundt pan with butter or nonstick spray.

Step 2

In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar using a hand mixer or stand mixer until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 3

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.

Step 4

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed butter mixture, alternating with the sour cream. Begin and end with the dry ingredients, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.

Step 6

To prepare the streusel filling, combine the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and chopped nuts (if using) in a small bowl. Mix well and set aside.

Step 7

Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle half of the streusel mixture evenly over the batter.

Step 8

Spread the remaining batter over the streusel layer and top with the rest of the streusel mixture.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 10

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Carefully invert the cake onto a wire rack and then flip it right-side up to cool completely.

Step 11

Once the cake has cooled, dust the top with powdered sugar for garnish.

Step 12

Slice and serve with coffee, tea, or your favorite beverage. Enjoy!
