Ingredients

  • 1 9-inch Pie crust (pre-made or homemade)
  • 1 cup Raisins
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • 3 large Egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon Butter (unsalted)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Whipped cream (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). If using a homemade pie crust, roll out and fit the dough into a 9-inch pie dish. Crimp the edges and set aside.

Step 2

In a small saucepan, combine the raisins and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes until the raisins are plump. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 3

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until combined.

Step 4

In a separate bowl, whisk the sour cream and egg yolks until smooth. Gradually stir the dry mixture into the sour cream mixture until well combined.

Step 5

Fold the plumped raisins (including any remaining liquid from the saucepan) into the filling mixture. Stir until evenly distributed.

Step 6

Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust. Smooth the top with a spatula for an even layer.

Step 7

Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. A knife inserted into the center should come out clean.

Step 8

Allow the pie to cool to room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to fully set.

Step 9

Before serving, garnish with whipped cream if desired. Slice into wedges and enjoy!
