Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground beef
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Whole milk
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 units Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Dried parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 0.25 cup Ketchup (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon Light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Yellow mustard

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, diced onion, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, dried parsley, and smoked paprika. Mix gently with your hands until all ingredients are just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatloaf dense.

Step 3

Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan, pressing it down gently to form an even loaf shape.

Step 4

In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard for the topping. Spread this glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Step 5

Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 55-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the meatloaf reaches 160°F (70°C) when tested with a meat thermometer.

Step 6

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute and makes slicing easier.

Step 7

Carefully transfer the meatloaf to a serving platter, slice, and serve warm with your favorite side dishes.
