Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef (80% lean)
  • 0.5 pound Ground pork
  • 0.5 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 0.25 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 Large egg
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil (for frying)
  • 3 cups Marinara sauce (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2

Gently mix the ingredients with your hands until well combined, being careful not to overmix.

Step 3

Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet or plate. You should have approximately 16-18 meatballs.

Step 4

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 5

Working in batches, cook the meatballs in the skillet, turning occasionally, until all sides are browned and they are cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

Step 6

If serving with marinara sauce, transfer the browned meatballs to a pot with the marinara sauce and simmer them gently for 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Step 7

Serve the meatballs warm over pasta, in a sub roll, or on their own with extra Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top.
