Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 2 pieces Large eggs
  • 2.25 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1.5 cups M&M's candy
  • 0.5 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2-3 minutes, or until the mixture is creamy and fluffy.

Step 3

Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the bowl. Mix on low speed until well incorporated.

Step 4

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 6

Fold in the M&M's (and chocolate chips, if using) with a spatula to evenly distribute throughout the dough.

Step 7

Using a tablespoon or an ice cream scoop, drop cookie dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Step 8

Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers still appear slightly soft.

Step 9

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

Serve warm for gooey centers or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
