Ingredients

  • 12 pieces Manicotti pasta shells
  • 2 cups Ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 piece Large egg
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 3 cups Marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the manicotti shells for 6-7 minutes, or until al dente. Drain the shells, rinse with cool water to stop the cooking process, and set them aside.

Step 3

Prepare the filling: In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth and fully combined.

Step 4

Using a spoon or a piping bag, carefully fill each manicotti shell with the cheese mixture. Be gentle to avoid tearing the shells.

Step 5

Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly over the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 6

Place the filled manicotti shells in a single layer in the dish. Spoon the remaining marinara sauce over the top to cover the shells completely.

Step 7

Drizzle the olive oil over the sauce for added richness.

Step 8

Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Step 9

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling and the cheese is melted and slightly golden.

Step 10

Let the manicotti rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with additional parsley or Parmesan cheese if desired.
