  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup water

Directions

Step 1

Heat a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the ground beef to the pan and cook it, breaking it into crumbles with a wooden spoon, until it's browned and no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes.

Step 3

Drain off any excess grease from the pan.

Step 4

Add the diced onion to the cooked beef and sauté for 3-4 minutes, until softened.

Step 5

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute, until fragrant.

Step 6

Reduce the heat to low and add the tomato sauce, ketchup, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, paprika, ground cumin, sugar, salt, and black pepper.

Step 7

Pour in the water and stir everything together until well combined.

Step 8

Simmer the chili, uncovered, for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the flavors meld and the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.

Step 9

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Step 10

Serve warm spooned over hot dogs in buns, and garnish as desired (such as with shredded cheese or chopped onions).
