Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 large Onion, diced
  • 3 stalks Celery, sliced
  • 1 large Green bell pepper, diced
  • 14.5 ounces Canned diced tomatoes
  • 8 ounces Canned tomato sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 cup Elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups Water or beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or pot over medium-high heat.

Step 2

Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat if needed.

Step 3

Push the beef to one side of the pan and add the diced onion, celery, and green bell pepper to the other side. Sauté the vegetables until softened, about 5 minutes.

Step 4

Stir the beef and vegetables together. Add the garlic powder, salt, and black pepper, mixing well.

Step 5

Pour in the canned diced tomatoes (with their juice), tomato sauce, and soy sauce. Stir well to combine.

Step 6

Add the water or beef broth and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.

Step 7

Stir in the elbow macaroni. Lower the heat to a simmer and cover the skillet or pot with a lid.

Step 8

Cook, stirring occasionally, until the macaroni is tender and the flavors have melded, about 12-15 minutes. Add more water or broth if the mixture becomes too dry.

Step 9

Taste and adjust the seasonings if necessary. Add more soy sauce, salt, or pepper to taste.

Step 10

Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired. Enjoy!
