Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.75 cup Milk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard (yellow or Dijon, for glaze)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let the mixture sit for a few minutes to allow the breadcrumbs to absorb the milk.

Step 3

Add the ground beef, eggs, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper to the breadcrumb mixture. Mix everything gently with clean hands or a large spoon until just combined (avoid overmixing to keep the meat loaf tender).

Step 4

Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan and press it down evenly to form a loaf shape.

Step 5

In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meat loaf.

Step 6

Bake the meat loaf in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C) as measured with a meat thermometer.

Step 7

Once fully cooked, remove the meat loaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes in the pan before slicing and serving.

Step 8

Serve warm with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, green beans, or a fresh salad. Enjoy!
