Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp white sesame seeds (optional)
  • 4 cups cooked white or brown rice (for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Thinly slice the beef sirloin into strips against the grain and place in a medium bowl.

Step 2

In the bowl with the beef, combine soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Mix well and let the beef marinate for 15 minutes.

Step 3

Prepare all vegetables by cutting them into bite-sized pieces. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.

Step 4

In a large wok or skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over high heat. Once hot, add the beef in a single layer and sear for 1-2 minutes per side, until browned but not fully cooked. Remove beef and set aside.

Step 5

Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the wok. Add garlic and ginger, sautéing for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 6

Add the broccoli, carrots, red bell peppers, and snap peas to the wok. Stir fry the vegetables for 3-4 minutes until they are crisp-tender.

Step 7

In a small bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, and rice vinegar. Adjust seasoning to taste if necessary.

Step 8

Return the beef to the wok, along with the sauce mixture. Stir everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes, ensuring the beef is cooked through and the sauce evenly coats the ingredients.

Step 9

Top with sliced green onions and sprinkle with white sesame seeds, if desired.

Step 10

Serve hot over cooked white or brown rice for a complete meal.
