Ingredients

  • 400 grams Beef sirloin (thinly sliced)
  • 2 medium Green bell peppers (sliced into thin strips)
  • 3 tablespoons Tamari (gluten-free soy sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger (grated)
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 2 stalks Scallions (sliced, green parts only)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Water

Directions

Step 1

In a medium-sized bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of tamari, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Mix well to coat the beef evenly, then set it aside to marinate for 10 minutes.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Cook the beef for 2-3 minutes on each side until it is browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.

Step 3

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, stirring for 30 seconds until aromatic.

Step 4

Add the sliced green bell peppers to the skillet. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly tender but still crisp.

Step 5

Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of tamari, black pepper, and water. Stir everything together and cook for another 2 minutes to heat through and coat the ingredients in the sauce.

Step 6

Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the sliced scallions on top as a garnish.

Step 7

Serve immediately with steamed rice or gluten-free noodles, if desired.
