Ingredients

  • 2 cups Gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet Instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.33 cup Baking soda
  • 1 Egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons Coarse sea salt

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.

Step 2

Add warm water and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Stir until you form a cohesive dough. The dough will be slightly sticky.

Step 3

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth, about 3-5 minutes. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour, but be careful not to make it too dry.

Step 4

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rest in a warm place for about 20 minutes.

Step 5

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 6

Bring a large saucepan filled with about 4 cups of water to a boil, then slowly stir in the baking soda.

Step 7

Roll the dough into a long rope, about ¾ inch in diameter, and cut into 1-inch pieces.

Step 8

Carefully drop the pretzel bites into the boiling baking soda water, a few at a time, and let them boil for about 30 seconds. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 9

Brush each pretzel bite with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.

Step 10

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 11

Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or enjoy on their own.
