Ingredients

  • 12 ounces gluten-free pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 28 ounces canned diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the gluten-free pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 5 minutes until translucent.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Step 4

Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes. Break up the meat with a spoon as it cooks.

Step 5

Once the beef is browned, drain any excess fat from the skillet.

Step 6

Add the canned diced tomatoes and tomato paste to the skillet, stirring to combine.

Step 7

Season the sauce with dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper.

Step 8

Lower the heat and let the sauce simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens.

Step 9

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 10

In a large baking dish, combine the cooked pasta with the meat sauce. Mix until the pasta is well coated.

Step 11

Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the pasta and sauce.

Step 12

Top with shredded Mozzarella cheese.

Step 13

Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 14

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
