Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 8 leaves lettuce leaves
  • 1 large tomato
  • 0.5 medium red onion
  • 4 slices cheese slices
  • 0.25 cup gluten-free ketchup
  • 0.25 cup mustard
  • 4 slices pickles

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill or a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined.

Step 3

Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty about 1/2-inch thick.

Step 4

Grill or cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness. If using a skillet, turn the heat down slightly to prevent burning.

Step 5

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.

Step 6

While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Use two leaves per burger for stability.

Step 7

Slice the tomato and red onion into thin slices.

Step 8

To assemble, place a cooked patty on two stacked lettuce leaves. Top with tomato slices, onion, pickles, and your choice of gluten-free ketchup and mustard.

Step 9

Wrap the lettuce leaves around the fillings and secure with a toothpick if necessary.

Step 10

Serve immediately and enjoy your gluten-free lettuce-wrapped burger.
