Ingredients

  • 500 grams White fish fillets (cod or pollock)
  • 100 grams Shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 50 grams Gluten-free breadcrumbs
  • 50 grams Potato starch
  • 0.5 medium Onion
  • 2 stalks Green onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 small Carrot
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Gluten-free soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons Cooking oil

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the fish fillets and shrimp under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel. Cut the fish and shrimp into chunks.

Step 2

In a food processor, combine the fish, shrimp, onion, garlic, and green onions. Pulse until a smooth paste forms.

Step 3

Transfer the fish paste to a large mixing bowl. Add gluten-free breadcrumbs, potato starch, grated carrot, egg, sesame oil, gluten-free soy sauce, sugar, salt, and black pepper.

Step 4

Mix the ingredients thoroughly using your hands or a spatula until well combined.

Step 5

Lightly oil your hands and shape the mixture into thin, oval patties about 1 cm thick.

Step 6

Heat cooking oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Step 7

Once the oil is hot, carefully place the fish cake patties in the skillet, ensuring not to overcrowd them.

Step 8

Pan-fry the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Step 9

Transfer the cooked fish cakes onto a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.

Step 10

Serve warm as a snack, main dish, or as part of a Korean soup!
