Ingredients

  • 1 pack Gluten-free puff pastry sheets
  • 200 grams Guava paste
  • 100 grams Cream cheese
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Water
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered sugar

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Take the gluten-free puff pastry out of the fridge and allow it to thaw slightly, making it easier to handle.

Step 3

In a small bowl, cut the guava paste into small cubes about 1-inch in size. Set aside.

Step 4

In another bowl, soften the cream cheese by stirring with a spatula or spoon until it becomes creamy.

Step 5

Unroll the puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface and gently roll it out to ensure even thickness.

Step 6

Cut the pastry sheet into 6 equal rectangles.

Step 7

On one half of each rectangle, spread about 1 tablespoon of the softened cream cheese, leaving a margin around the edges.

Step 8

Place 2-3 cubes of guava paste on top of the cream cheese on each rectangle.

Step 9

Fold the pastry over the filling, crimping the edges with a fork to seal.

Step 10

In a small bowl, beat the egg with the tablespoon of water to create an egg wash.

Step 11

Brush the tops of each pastry with egg wash, which will give them a nice golden color.

Step 12

Place the filled pastries on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each piece.

Step 13

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the pastries are puffed and golden brown.

Step 14

Remove from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes.

Step 15

Dust the pastries with powdered sugar before serving for an extra touch of sweetness.

Step 16

Enjoy your gluten-free guava pastries warm or at room temperature!
