Ingredients

  • 500 grams boneless chicken breasts
  • 3 tablespoons gluten-free soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4 units garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 unit red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 unit green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 units green onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Start by slicing the boneless chicken breasts into thin strips.

Step 2

In a large bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons of the gluten-free soy sauce, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, half the minced garlic, and the grated ginger. Add the chicken strips, toss well to coat, and let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Step 3

While the chicken is marinating, prepare the sauce by combining the remaining 1 tablespoon of gluten-free soy sauce, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, chili sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and a pinch of salt. Mix well and set aside.

Step 4

Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken strips and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.

Step 5

In the same pan, add the remaining sesame oil. Add the remaining garlic, red and green bell peppers, and stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until the peppers are tender-crisp.

Step 6

Return the cooked chicken to the pan and pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and peppers. Stir well to coat everything in the sauce, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Step 7

Add the chopped green onions and stir them into the chicken and peppers. Cook for another 1-2 minutes.

Step 8

Transfer the dragon chicken to a serving dish, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, and serve hot.
