Ingredients

  • 4 large Russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 0.5 cup Gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 0.25 cup Green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 cups Gluten-free breadcrumbs
  • 3 cups Vegetable oil, for frying

Directions

Step 1

Peel and cube the russet potatoes. Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook until tender, about 15 minutes.

Step 2

Drain the potatoes and transfer them to a large bowl. Add the unsalted butter and mash until smooth. Allow the mixture to cool slightly.

Step 3

Add the gluten-free flour, eggs, shredded cheddar cheese, green onions, salt, pepper, and paprika to the mashed potatoes. Mix until well combined.

Step 4

Take about 2 tablespoons of the mixture at a time and roll it into balls.

Step 5

Place the gluten-free breadcrumbs in a shallow dish. Roll each potato ball in the breadcrumbs, ensuring they are fully coated.

Step 6

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or a deep-fat fryer to 350°F (175°C).

Step 7

Fry the potato balls in batches, avoiding overcrowding, for about 3-4 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Step 8

Remove the fried potato balls with a slotted spoon and drain them on a paper towel-lined plate.

Step 9

Serve warm and enjoy your Gluten-Free Crispy Fried Potato Balls with your favorite dipping sauce if desired.
