  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 250 milliliters vegetable oil, for frying

Directions

Step 1

Place the fresh cod fillets in a pot with enough water to cover. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to low and poach the cod for about 5-7 minutes until it flakes easily with a fork. Remove the cod from water and let it cool slightly.
