Ingredients

  • 12 ounces Gluten-free spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 4 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes
  • 28 ounces Canned diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 0.25 cup Basil leaves, fresh and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated (optional for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add a pinch of salt to the boiling water.

Step 2

Add the gluten-free spaghetti to the boiling water. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 7-9 minutes.

Step 3

While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 4

Add the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 5

Stir in the canned diced tomatoes and tomato paste. Mix well and bring to a gentle simmer.

Step 6

Add the chopped fresh basil leaves, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to the tomato sauce. Stir to combine.

Step 7

Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld.

Step 8

Once the spaghetti is cooked, drain it and reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta water.

Step 9

Add the cooked gluten-free spaghetti to the tomato sauce in the skillet. Toss gently to coat the pasta with the sauce.

Step 10

If the sauce is too thick, add the reserved pasta water a little at a time until you achieve your desired consistency.

Step 11

Remove from heat and garnish with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.

Step 12

Serve immediately in bowls and enjoy your gluten-free classic tomato spaghetti.
