  • 1 finely chopped Celery stalk
  • 3 minced Garlic cloves
  • 500 grams Ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 1 cup Red wine
  • 800 grams Canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 400 grams Gluten-free spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped Fresh parsley
  • 0.5 cup, grated (optional) Parmesan cheese

Directions

Step 1

Begin by heating a large pan over medium heat and adding the olive oil.

Step 2

Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery to the pan. Stir occasionally and cook until the vegetables are soft, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic and sauté for another 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 4

Increase the heat to high and add the ground beef. Break it apart with a wooden spoon and cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes.

Step 5

Stir in the tomato paste, ensuring the beef is well coated.

Step 6

Pour in the red wine and cook until it has mostly evaporated, for about 3-4 minutes.

Step 7

Add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, bay leaf, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.

Step 8

Reduce the heat to low, cover partially, and let the sauce simmer for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until it thickens.

Step 9

Meanwhile, cook the gluten-free spaghetti according to package instructions. Once done, drain and set aside.

Step 10

Just before serving, remove the bay leaf from the sauce and taste the sauce to adjust seasoning if needed.

Step 11

Serve the Bolognese sauce over the gluten-free spaghetti, garnished with fresh parsley and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese if desired.
